Pelvic health physiotherapy is a valuable approach to healthcare that benefits people of all ages and stages in their life. It is an education forward, evidence-based approach to supporting an individual's bladder, bowel and deep core muscle function. These areas have a significant impact on the quality of a person's daily activities. Changes in these areas can be experienced during the pregnancy and post-partum period, or as conditions such as urinary incontinence (leakage), loss of bowel control, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, erectile dysfunction and constipation.
Regaining, and learning to maintain, control over these muscles allows a patient to feel in control of, and connected to, their bodies and to approach their day to day activities with confidence and ease.
